Chapter 3: God sent me to the Big Apple...
As the plane landed in JFK, I started a new life in a new country.
My auntie had me live with her family, my grandma and GiGi.
Shortly after I arrived NYC, life became real to me. For the first time in my life, I
realize that I had to make money. I was working in various Chinese restaurants delivering
food on the streets of Manhattan. During the course of my 5-year college study, it was
mainly how I paid for my living. It was a period of constant struggle for
survival, and it was probably the toughest time in my life: 1990-1995.
But life was still fun. I made a lot of great friends over years. Spending time with them energizes my life.
